(no subject)

Things we need!

1] game name! because dapperpunk doesn't fit it now... I don't think.

2] journals for
- modbizness (personal journal) - if each mod has one that's good too
- info comm (comm for fact sheets for characters)
- ooc comm (for ooc-ing)
- dr comm (for practicing, developing history with existing casts, testing out your version of the character)
- game comm (I kind of want logs and network/comm devices in the same comm. no splitting it up, because things get missed, etc. we can just tag things #text, #phone call, @journal, * action, * prose ... etc.)
- meme/spam comm (for polyvore)
- Mod Plurk Account

3] gods and honoring them

- how to honor/follow
- all about faking it
- all about not believing in any of it
- link: Sorting the Gods - sort the greeks into easier to maintain groups, so that it's not a billion gods, but still try to give each one their own personal perk, but the group have the same. So like all the war-based/fighting-ones are in a group, but you can pick a specific one and get a specific bonus.
- decide if we need to sort the egyptian ones or not and if there are bonuses for that or not

4] WORLD BUILDING STUFF
- maps (by odell)
- housing options (so that people can't just have "instant mansion because they want their whole cast living together")
- underground vs aboveground
- transportation methods
- monetary system
- employment options (player owned businesses, etc)
- landscape, animals, weather/climate

5] Mod-type stuffs

- app
- dropped character app
- dropped character app - sponsor request
- reserve
- taken
- drop/hiatus
- plot/event suggestions & requests
- player owned businesses
- npc owned businesses
- list of NPCs!
- general 10 commandments page (no godmodding, no being mean)
- rules on death link: Death Clarification, pregnancy, violence, magic - all the weird things
- faq
+ info on the premise
+ all that how does this work stuff
+ helpful tips on how to AU your character
+ helpful tips on how to keep your anime/troll/robot traits when adapting them to the world and what cases don't require a change.
- info on the AC (because I hate it when the AC info is like hidden into other posts)
+ AC will be a summation of character events. Tell us what your character has been doing for the past month and provide at least 2 links to prove that it's not all implied. Links must be either your own post, 5+ of your consecutive replies in a [bracket] post, or 2+ of your own consecutive replies in a prose post.

Also, from an admin standpoint? Mod plurk, for mod business. That way people don't have to follow the mods personal plurks and it keeps information streamlined.

Not saying that they shouldn't check the admin comm or anything, but it might help.

Death: In order to bring a person back, a deal has to be made with a deity. Egyptian vs. Greek it doesn't matter, but a deal has to be made on behalf of the person who died.

I'm torn between whether or not the house deity needs to go to Hades/Osiris on the person's behalf, or they need to go to those gods directly, but as a result of the deal the person with the dead loved one trades something of theirs -- material or immaterial -- in order to revive their friend. And the gods can accept/refuse depending on the intention of the death.

Otherwise, the character that dies stays dead.

Since this is an AU game, splitting up the taken list by "house" as oppose to fandom so that it helps players recognize who's in what house and better generate cross-canon CR?

I mean, I think people will be able to figure out who their castmates are, though I do agree that it will make it harder for someone looking in to find which characters from that canon are already taken.

Okay, in terms of worship:

Being part of a god's house offers perks, protections etc, so naturally the gods want something in return, a tithe, that could really be anything so long as it matters to the god.

Like for example, those from Ares house/house of war can pay in blood, in the sense that they're the soldiers/law enforcement/etc etc. That way those who want to fake it have something tangible that they can contribute in order to get that protection.

Some gods could make due with actual payments, where in order to remain under those gods' protection they pay a fee, but for the more "eccentric" deities, they could always ask for something a little more metaphysical.

HOW TO EXPLAIN THIS ] [ aka how do you shot a premise

Let's make notes here on how we want to describe this game in a few simple paragraphs. Since right now... we have lots of comments and rambles.

ALLOWABLE SPECIES

[personal profile] submarine 2012-02-24 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Most characters will be AU'd to human. Vampires and werewolves are also allowed -- but not fairies or elves.

Biological "enhancements" or modifications can be used to have your character have horns, pointy ears, tails, etc., to meet their canon appearances. This can extend somewhat to abilities; ex. Max from Dark Angel could have bio-engineered vision and agility, but Sesshoumaru wouldn't actually be able to transform into a giant dog. These "body modders" ("transients"? "transhumanists"? think of a term) can range from somebody who thinks bat wings look cool, to an "otherkin" type of person ("deep down inside I'm really a fictional alien with grey skin and horns").

Characters that are uniquely non-human in their canon and their uniqueness is part of their origin (ie, Hellboy, Jenny Sparks) would be allowed to be apped as-is, if it can be properly explained how they fit into the AU setting. It's a case-by-case basis, in other words. When in doubt, ask the mods!

"Mutant" characters --???? do we want to delve into an "X" genome or some kind of chemical incident to allow for mutant powers?

Androids/robots/Transformers --???? y/n?

Magic characters --??? How much "magic" is allowed vs. how much is actually nanotech?

Demons/angels/other mythological and paranormal creatures (excluding vampires/werewolves) --??? do we want to allow these? they could clash with the Greek/Egyptian pantheons, unless we have them be like ... Greek demons...? idek if that's a thing
